Gorongoza community project

A comprehensive carbon management plan can help you to reduce your carbon emissions but it will never entirely eliminate your carbon footprint. We help our clients to offset their unavoidable emissions residue with internationally recognised carbon credits. The primary goal of the Climate standard system is to eliminate the risk of people buying carbon credits from fraudulent projects and, for this reason, only projects that carry one of a variety of internationally respected certifications are recognised, namely Plan Vivo, the Gold Standard, VCS and CCBA.

We currently sell credits from Envirotrade’s Sofala Community Carbon Project in Mozambique that has gained Plan Vivo and CCBA Triple Gold certification. This project is restoring 35 000 hectares of community forest in the previously war-ridden zone surrounding the Gorongoza National Park. Over 2000 farming families in the area benefit from the sale of carbon credits and have seen improvements in crop yields, food security and family income. At least two thirds of the revenue generated by the project is channelled back to the project operations and local communities on whom the agroforestry and forest protection project depends.

climate standard level threeYour organisation can become carbon neutral by purchasing Climate Standard approved carbon credits that offset unavoidable emissions.  As with Level 1 and Level 2, the license to use the carbon neutral logo includes support with wording advertising claims, as well as public recognition in the Climate Standard registry.
